Physical art making has always interested me. As a child I often would make things with my father and grandfathers. They would from the time that I could walk have me in the shop or garage working on things. Because of this I originally went to school to be a Metalsmithing and Jewelry Artist. I still work in this medium along with my primary area of Printmaking.

Barbageddon (2023/2025) (Bronze/Silver Cast Pendent)
The Barbageddon pendent started as my homage to the Barbie and Oppenheimer movies. I thought of all the people that went to both movies many on the same day and it became such a thing to do. Working in 3D software I created this pendent. Starting with the special IMAX Film format they used for the Oppenheimer movie I created the basic form of the pendent. I used various operations to create the nuclear cloud and corvette adjusting perspective and visual dimensions to create form and movement. This silver version was painted through the painting with patina in areas. There is also a bronze version with patina to antique it.

Fortruss (2025) (Silver Cast)
Fortruss is a chime object created in 3D software then printed and cast in silver. It is a variation on the traditional way of making chime spheres. Working with boxes I manipulated and replicated them around the idea that I was going to use the same internal components that would go in a chime sphere. Visually it feels like an iron cross as you would see in medals of soldiers but also feels from the side has the feel of a stronghold.

Linear Cloud (2025) (Bronze Cast)
Linear Cloud is another chime object variation on the traditional chime sphere. Created in 3D software then printed and cast. Starting with small spheres I built form replicating and scaling in a geometric pattern till this form emerged. Wanted a form that was very straight without using straight objects.

Rounded Diamond (2025) (Bronze Cast)
Rounded Diamond was created in 3D Software with a gear pattern that had is lobes rounded. By rounding the shape at the beginning I was able to extrude a puffy but geometric shape which I then manipulated using twist and taper to eventually create the final form. To me has a feel of something you might find in a Moroccan market.

Twisted Diamond (2025) (Bronze Cast)
This piece was created similar to the rounded diamond without rounding off the lobes. This gives a more striking almost medieval feel. 3D Modeled then printed and cast.

Smoky Mountain (2025) (Silver Cast w/ Stone Setting)
Smoky Mountain was created to fit the Smoky Topaz that is set in it. Created in 3D software I wanted something that went with the smoky in the gem name and thought of mountains. This led me to create the mountain ridge that surrounds the stone while leaving areas open so light could get under the stone and allow it to shine. As it is a large stone I tried to make the setting comparable in size without being overly bulky.

Chime Sphere (2023) (Metal Forming)
Chime spheres are a classic piece of formed object. I have made several versions including the one shown here which has different metals. Internals are also partial spheres which are cut into xylophone shapes and a small piece of metal is a striker. Hemispheres need to be soldered airtight for these to work properly.

Shellshocked (2023) (Enamel Wall Piece)
Anyone that knows any one of a number of stories around this little guy (Kilroy) may understand. During WWII this character was seen in various locations throughout the war. So, figured this version of him would look a little more worn that the usual blank eyes. This piece is made of multiple pieces of copper which are enameled to bring this character to life and mounted on a brass backplate. His striking eyes, fingernails and knuckles are created with strips of copper placed to give separation and define their shapes with the different colored enamels used. He is peaking over his ever-present brick wall created using different layers of transparent colors.

VanGogh (2023) (Silver Cast)
VanGogh is a conglomeration of visuals from Vincent VanGogh. Created using 3D software I tried to make two layers so that I could have a large space on top with his name and a pattern based on brush strokes in Stary Night. While the lower level was going in include multiple references to his other works. This level ended up being populated by irises which my wife love and the sides of the band include the cypress and moon also from Stary Night. Silver ring is patinaed to bring out the details.

Square Horned Cup with Stand (2023) (Raised Vessel)
This cup is my take on the classic horned cup. I also wanted to include elements of weaving and braiding. Cup is a raised vessel which is then squared to final shape. Base of cup is not stable especially with the heavy forged and braided handle so created the base to make sure it could stand. For the rim as well as the top and bottom of base I created a basket style weave which is riveted to maintain shape and strength. Patina was added to add visual interest and visually break up the large amount of copper used in this piece.
